Rambler Brotherhood Project
Rambler Brotherhood Project
The Rambler Brotherhood Project (RBP) is a student success initiative rooted in Jesuit values that aims to improve the educational experience at Loyola University Chicago through mentorship, networking, and academic opportunities. RBP is free and open to all students who are interested in and committed to the program’s mission, regardless of their gender identity or sex.

Our Purpose
Our approach to RBP is rooted in Loyola’s Jesuit mission. Our Ignatian values guide our programming and efforts to increase and retain our student population, support their academic excellence, and prepare them for a life of service and success.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide opportunities to improve student satisfaction, academic performance, campus engagement, retention, and graduation rates. Through mentorship, networking, and community service, we provide opportunities to build a sense of resilience, belonging, and leadership for all students at Loyola.

Our Impact
All participants are offered alumni mentors and participate in community service and events around Chicagoland. Students who attend 80% of weekly meetings, maintain a 3.0 GPA, volunteer 12 hours of community service, and participate in goal setting and assessment throughout the academic year earn a $1,400 scholarship.

How Rambler Brotherhood Project sets students up for success
Students, faculty, and staff reflect on how Rambler Brotherhood Project's approach to student success, rooted in Jesuit values, empowers students with the resources and community they need to thrive at Loyola and beyond.

The National Challenge
National statistics show a decline in enrollment and degree completion among men from all backgrounds. Consistent with this trend, Loyola University Chicago’s undergraduate student population consists of 70% women and 30% men. The RBP was born out of an effort to address this issue on Loyola’s campus and beyond.
Academic Partners
Our ongoing partnerships with academic organizations that identify opportunities for growth, member participation, and assessment include the University of Washington, Higher Education Male Achievement Collaborative, Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Interfaith America, and American Association of Colleges and Universities.
Community Partners
Our community partnerships that offer opportunities for current Loyola students and establish pipelines for future college students include the Obama Foundation, the Office of the Mayor of the City of Chicago, Loyola’s Arrupe College, Chicago Public Schools, and the Chicago Jesuit Academy.
Event Partners
RBP continually seeks and maintains partnerships with various organizations to host students for training, networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities such as the City Club of Chicago and the Metropolitan.
Corporate Partners
Our partnerships empower us to generate corporate awareness of our program, create enrollment and employment pipelines, and facilitate mentorship and networking connections. We introduce and expose our students to businesses and career opportunities in major corporations such as Northwestern Medicine, Google, McDonald’s Corporation, and American Family Insurance. Richard Bennett Custom Tailors and State and Liberty Clothing has provided business attire for our students.

Our Vision for Success
As RBP grows, we envision a future where every student is supported and empowered to participate and succeed at Loyola and beyond. We are consistently seeking to expand our partnerships, establish new networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, and increase scholarship funding. Beyond our campus, we will continue to seek solutions to address gaps in the preschool to college pipeline, provide resources for youth in collaboration with local schools an organizations, and expand participation in the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
